Messy the Wave Robot

By: stefan.alund - Nov 09, 2009

Messy is a Google Wave Robot that adds SMS communication to a Wave.

Messy integrates with the Ericsson Labs API "SMS Send & Receive" and makes it possible to have a 2-way communication via SMS in a Wave. After entering a special syntax in a Wave, a participant can trigger an SMS delivery to another user, e.g. to someone not currently online. The user that receives the SMS can reply to it and the reply gets posted to the conversation in the Wave.

Uses robot cron jobs, Java Document Objects (JDO) and shows how to connect with an external API.

no workee outside of sandbox

I don't have sandbox access, but i added it to try it out, the robot said success my phone said otherwise, I really hope this gets to be fully functional though.

Only works in sandbox

It seems like it only works in the Developer Sandbox and not in the public preview. About the phone number, please don't use + before, only country code and full nr, e.g. 4679088XXX (46 for Sweden)

Same For Me - Doesn't Work

I tried it in the preview and it didn't send the txt. I used sms/########## message After clicking Done I git the blip message saying the text was sent, but never got the SMS. I tried it to two different phone numbers. Please advise.

good idea, but didn't work

I tried it two times, once from my sandbox and another from the preview. Started the line with /sms ########## message (of course with my phone number and test message). The robot said it worked, but I never got the texts. ??

Nice robot

Greap app, very useful, much easier than sms:ing from iPhone :)
